Decoding Tips

1. The WebDecoder® game pieces are designed to interact with a color monitor. Please decode using a color monitor only. Also, those game contestants who have difficulty discerning colors may wish to ask a friend or co-worker for assistance in decoding the WebDecoder®.

2. For best results, dim your room lights and pull your shade or blinds. This will remove any glare on your monitor. For improved results, cup your hand around the game piece to remove even more outside light. The word will appear in the center of the game piece in large letters in outline form.

3. If you are using a laptop computer with a color screen, please adjust the brightness and contrast on your screen until the word becomes apparent. Because of the lower levels of light emanated from a laptop, it may be more difficult to decode than on a standard monitor.

4. Those contestants using a computer which interfaces with a television (i.e. WebTV) may need to adjust the brightness and contrast settings on the television monitor.
