Casino Affiliate Convention in Las Vegas
|
Portal
webmasters, online gaming operators, affiliate managers and
other great marketing minds will converge on the Stardust
Resort & Casino in Las Vegas September 14-15th to learn more
about global internet marketing for the online gaming industry.
The
event, which focuses on increasing traffic and conversion
rates, promises to cover a wide range of topics through a
series of morning lectures and seminars, and afternoon workshops,
featuring a broad cross-section of industry experts. Scheduled
speakers include the top executives from Findwhat.com, Overture.com,
iMarketing News, William Hill Casino, Casino Affiliate Programs
to name but a few.
The
2 day event should be a great opportunity for industry networking,
provocative thought, and a great precursor to the Global Gaming
Expo which follows on Tuesday, September 16th through to the
18th. All in all, it's a great week for industry professionals
to arm themselves with valuable information necessary to succeed
in this rapidly changing business. For further information

| Get
the most from Your Email Marketing |
Finding
the right subject line that delivers the highest open rates
on your email campaigns can be a lengthy, and costly exercise.
Targeting multiple lists makes the process even harder. Instead
of using just one subject line for your mailings, use as many
as 10. The initial set-up efforts for tracking each mailer
will be well worth the rewards of detailed results.

| In
2003, it is estimated that each of us can expect to receive
3,681 e-mail messages a year - with 2,603 of those unsolicited.
By 2008, it is estimated that we will each receive 40 unsolicited
e-mails a day at work, and 54 at home, with some of us receiving
as many as 130 to 400 unsolicited e-mails daily. Why are the
levels increasing so dramatically? By giving e-mail addresses
out to enter a contest, or make an online purchase, many users
have inadvertently opted into mailing lists & requested additional
consumer information. Studies by the Jupiter Group estimate
that 30% of what users consider "spam" is actually opt-in
mail. In addition, thanks to better e-mail harvesting technology,
e-mail lists can also be gathered from chat rooms, newsgroups
and free personal web page services, making response rates
as low as 1 in 40,000 profitable for mass mailers. (Source:
Wired Magazine, Sept. 2003)

Did
you ever notice when you blow in a dog's face he gets mad
at you? But when you take him in a car he sticks his head
out the window!
The
other day I saw two dogs walk over to a parking meter. One
of them says to the other, "How do you like that? Pay toilets!"
Why
don't dogs use computers? Because they can't stick their heads
out of Windows XP.
