“Casino” Reality TV Show from “Survivor” Creator

Mark Burnett, the creative genius behind “Survivor” and Trump’s “The Apprentice” reality TV programs, has recently announced that his brand new reality show “The Casino” will debut June 14th. The show focuses on two dot-com millionaires that tackle ownership and operation of a Las Vegas Casino. America’s youngest casino operators Timothy Poster and Thomas Breitling made their fortune by founding Travelscape.com and then selling it to Expedia.com four years ago.

The program has 13 episodes produced for the launch, and will air in Canada and the US. There are 30 and 60 second spots available for Canadian national and regional placement, which will target almost a million Canadian viewers per episode. Interested advertisers should contact sales@spotteddogmedia.com immediately.

Marketing Tips

Direct mail that Pulls

Here are some easy tips to follow to make sure you get the most bang for your buck when executing a direct mail campaign:

  1. NCOA Scrub – If your list broker hasn’t done this, or you’re mailing to your own client list, run it through the National Change of Address correction system before mailing. People that have registered a moving notice with the post office will be picked up and corrected, ensuring you get the most effective delivery rate possible.
  2. Personalize your Offer – printing the recipients name on your promotional letter, gift certificate, or coupon, will always get you a better response than a generic greeting.
  3. Make your offer time sensitive – whenever possible, using a deadline for your promotion provides that extra sense of urgency.

UK likes Direct mail

Direct mail now makes up more than half of all items received by the average consumer in the United Kingdom in a week, according to a study released this month from the Direct Mail Information Service, a UK-based research firm.

More than half of consumers, or 56 percent, have bought products advertised through a direct mailing, though 40 percent of direct mail is unopened. Targeted mailings are the most effective, with 38 percent of consumers buying from these mailings at some point compared with 9 percent buying from mass mailings.

The DMIS cited value for money and convenience as the reasons most consumers are likely to have bought through direct mail.

Dog letters to God

  • Dear God, How come people love to smell flowers, but seldom smell one another? Where are their priorities?
  • Dear God, When we get to Heaven, can we sit on your couch? Or is it the same old story?
  • Dear God, When we get to the Pearly Gates, do we have to shake hands to get in?
  • Dear God, Are there dogs on other planets or are we alone? I have been howling at the moon and stars for a long time, but all I ever hear back is the Retriever across the street!
  • Dear God, Are there mailmen in Heaven? If there are, will I have to apologize?
  • Dear God, May I have my testicles back?
