Standing
Out Above the Crowd |
Ask
yourself this .. “What sets my gaming business apart
from every other operator out there?” Do you actually
have a more compelling value proposition than the next Casino?
And…have you clearly identified your value to your target
market? Producing cost effective promotions that raise the
overall response rates of your marketing campaigns are increasingly
harder to find.
Let’s
take a giant leap. What if you could offer players a chance
to win One Million Dollars for patronizing your casino? That’s
exactly what Trump and Harrah’s Casinos do on a regular
basis. And instead of putting up the cash themselves, and
administering the rules and regulations for the contest, they
work with one of the largest Insured Promotions Organizations
to handle it for them, at a fraction of the costs. Often,
the cost of bringing contestant finalists to the Casino cost
more than insuring the Contest itself.
Customized
contests that let the advertiser choose the venue and theme,
calculating response rates versus contest odds, and flexible
contest budgets are all just one facet of the new emerging
power marketing plans in today’s gaming industry.

| Saying
“Thank-you” |
Saying
“thank you” to your clients is a powerful marketing
tool. And, the cost of saying thank you is relatively inexpensive
when compared to the amount of business it can potentially
generate.
“Thank
you” is a simple approach to viral marketing, and is
truly an effective way to increase client retention and loyalty.
And, viral marketing is really just a new buzzword for the
oldest form of publicity in the world: “Referral"
or "Word of Mouth" marketing.
The Internet
is the perfect tool for viral marketing because it offers
many ways to utilize existing technologies to say “thank
you” to one’s clients. "Word of mouth"
has evolved into "word of mouse", the Internet version.
Technology makes it easy to reach out to all of your clients
to say thank you, plain and simple.
Make sure
to add a thank-you when offering discounts, promotions or
bonuses to customers for repeat business. A “thank you
“ connects you to your clients on a completely different
level than when you are selling them.

| Telemarketing
gets a wake-up call |
Since
the launch of the US Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC)
free national Do-Not-Call Registry on June 27, consumers who
want to stop getting telemarketing calls have registered more
than 10 million telephone numbers….85% of which were registered
online.
On Friday, June 27th, day one of the registry, seven million
telephone numbers were logged into the FTC's online system,
according to the agency. Another 4.6 million telephone numbers
were registered on June 28th, and two million were registered
on June 29th. That caused the FTC's Do-Not-Call registration
Web site to slow to a crawl, according to Keynote Systems,
which offers e-commerce performance monitoring capabilities.
Ironically, there was a problem with consumers receiving their
confirmation emails because some of them were being filtered
out by users' spam-blocking software.
Telemarketers who call numbers
on the list after October 1,2003 face penalties of up to $11,000USD
per call, as well as possible consumer lawsuits. Consumers
can sign up for the list by logging onto the site, www.donotcall.gov.

A
man follows a woman out of a movie theatre. She has a dog
on a leash. He stops her and says, "I'm sorry to bother
you, but I couldn't help but notice that your dog was really
into the movie. He cried at the right spots, he moved nervously
in his seat at the boring parts, but most of all, he laughed
like crazy at the funny parts. Did you find that unusual??"
"Yes,"
she replied, "I found it very unusual ...because he hated
the book!" |
